Here, I researched e-learning and virtual learning environments in a professional setting. This involved leading several projects simultaneously, developing connections for successful collaborative work, communicating the findings to stakeholders on an international level (orally and in writing), and even being consulted upon for research methods and statistics. I got my department nominated for the THES Awards in 2006 ("most imaginative use of distance learning"), cognitive modeling, and developed a new method to measure collaborative online learning.
(Self-Employed; Myself Only; Information Technology and Services industry)
January 2001 — January 2005 (4 years 1 month)
During this time, I was researching my PhD thesis but also underwent independent consulting. In this time, I worked on projects such as aircraft cockpit design, scientific software and oil drilling software, e-commerce shop fronts, workflow systems, some collaborative software. This work gave me a wonderful insight into how real world projects actually get done.
