Andrew (AJ) Sedlak's Education
Penn State University
BA, Integrative Arts
1995 – 1999
Shortly after starting Penn State's respected graphic design curriculum (as one of only about 25 students accepted), I withdrew to pursue a more diversified education. Beyond design principles, I explored photography and photographic manipulation, marketing, advertising, psychology and business topics - a gamble which has paid off tremendously in my professional career.
During my time at the Daily Collegian I progressed from a staff artist to Chief Graphic Artist and then to Graphics Editor. In these roles, I was responsible for designing, or supervising the design of, custom layouts in addition to overseeing the daily activities of the department, including selection and mentoring of new candidates for staff positions.
