Application Programmer devoted to using the right tools for the right need. Used to think you should do everything in one programming language, no matter what the application did. However, I've learned that reinventing the wheel makes it hard on the developer to get things done efficiently.

I develop web-based applications for the Academic Technologies department. Our applications can be internal Acad Tech. sites, used to keep track of equipment, software licenses, or more external applications for the various facets of education. We are currently working on taking some of our complex ColdFusion sites and reworking the business logic of them so that we can put the site up in Ruby on Rails, our preferred programming language.

I work with the President of the company to help with creating web 2.0 based applications for his clients. Clients are generally around the Owosso, MI area. Clients include townships, lawyers, land development, surveyors, and other local businesses. We've created anything from a simple to use CMS for the clients to update their web site to creating contact management systems for internal use.
