Author, Travel Photographer, Journalist & Blogger - no time for more than this!!
Delhi Area, India
Things have changed at my end this year.
From being mostly a newspaper journalist and columnist, I am now almost full time dedicated to writing my books and pursuing travel photography. I also blog professionally, and open to newspaper columns but only of my choosing.
My first travel book, a compilation of funny roads signs and ads in India, is now out effective October 2008. Titles "Peep Peep Don't Sleep" you can check it out at http://ajayjain.com/peep-peep-dont-sleep/.
My first management book, "Let's Connect: Using LinkedIn to get ahead at work" continues to sell well. (More about this book at www.techgazing.com/linkedin.)
My next book - due November 2008 - is on the environment but different from what you may expect. Watch this space for more annoucements.
In the past I have been writing on new media, technology, travel and business. Over the years, I have been a serial entrepreneur, consultant and professional in my 15-year career (starting 1992).
Being full of out-of-the-box ideas- to do new things or for doing things differently, there is an inherent restlessness in me to try as many as possible. Does not work!!
It is then that I turned to something I always wanted to be - a journalist, in 2001. Allowed me to explore so many different things and meet people, and then write about them.
Finding myself restricted to just one genre, I stopped working for just one newspaper - and have taken the more difficult route of freelancing. And to be able to reach out to a much greater world out there, I also have professional blogs of my own.
Who have I been writing for? Leading publications in India including Outlook Business (a fortnightly), Mint (a daily business paper published in partnership with The Wall Street Journal), Business Standard (a daily business paper published in partnership with The Financial Times), The Financial Express (another business daily), Rediff.com and others.
Writing -->
While I have done well writing on various genres, I am happiest doing travel writing now on India. (This is the region I expect to be writing on for some time)
Travel Photography -->
Of late, I have discovered a minor talent in travel photography and I pursue this commercially. Check out my online gallery at http://kunzum.com/gallery.
