Management & English Instructor, Faculty of ICT at Mahidol University
Thailand
After 10 years in retail as a customer service manager, responsible for both customer service and numerous operation functions, I followed my dream to work in Japan. What was supposed to be a short three year stint as an English instructor turned into a major career change. I fell in love with teaching and have taught English as a Foreign Language (EFL) at a variety of institutions, ranging from kindergarten to university. The bulk of my teaching experience has been at the secondary level and in higher education.
My secondary experience started when I spent the first three years of my teaching career in an Intensive English program at a Japanese government high school located in Fukuoka Prefecture (1995-1998). I followed that up several years later by helping to establish an Intensive English Program at one of the most prestigious girls' high schools in Bangkok, Thailand (2002-2004).
My higher education experience began in my fourth year in Japan where I worked for four years at a foreign language vocational school (1998-2002). Since 2004, I have been teaching EFL, EAP, ESP and Management at the number one ranked university in Thailand. I served as the Head English Teacher in my department from 2007 to 2009.
I would like to continue my career in education management. Although I would like to remain in the classroom, I would also like to take on more managerial and decision making responsibilities, particularly in the areas of student services and recruitment.
I also have a wide variety of experience teaching corporate English courses and language school conversation classes.
