Sameer works with Hewlett-Packard - Decision Support and Analytics (DSAS) as Service Delivery Manager – KM/CM and Social Media (service delivery for Corporate Marketing) and as the leader for Knowledge Management. He has been responsible for setting up an integrated KM, information and communications program at DSAS based on contextual KM techniques. On the service delivery side, he transitioned operations of a pan-HP market research portal (MarketVision; global user base of 60K+ employees) and now leads the India operations team. MarketVision operations include communications, user support, training, content management, research assistance, web support and ‘web services’ deployment. Besides this, Sameer also leads the content and database management team for Corporate Environment Sustainability group. He also led an end-to-end engagement with Corp Mktg India (research-consulting-deployment) to setup an internal social media platform for HP employees in India (30k+). He now leads the team supporting the social media platform providing strategy, consulting and operations support. Sameer is also part of the global Social Media Council for HP.
Background: Sameer started his career an entrepreneur in the ‘dot-com era’ – selling web design, development, hosting and email services and providing technology consulting to a leading business group in India. He then moved on to an advertising agency where he led a large team that designed and developed 100+ websites and several print and web campaigns. He also got the opportunity to try his hands at client servicing and copy writing!
A couple of years later, Sameer got introduced to the world of Knowledge Management through a job at A.T. Kearney. He spent close to 4 years at A.T. Kearney learning the various nuances of Knowledge Management – from technology to strategy to operations. Post this, Sameer moved to Genpact where he led the corporate knowledge management initiative at a global level.

- Supported the firm’s primary research by developing web-based surveys.
- Maintained/upgraded the existing firm intranet. This included developing web-based ‘knowledge maps’, search tools and custom KM tools to support proprietary firm IC.
