Web Application Developer
Twickenham, United Kingdom
I am a LAMP (Linux / Apache / MySQL / PHP) developer, focused on back-end website and web application programming with 3 years commercial experience in the UK and over 5 years of earlier experience in Poland, where I've been working on self-employed, freelance basis.
I have worked on many different projects, including large scale eCommerce websites such as Borders UK (www.borders.co.uk) or Borders Australia (www.borders.com.au). I have particular experience in maintaining and processing large volumes of data using command-line scripts in Linux environment. As a Linux user on daily basis, I also have basic server administration skills and good understanding of system internals.
Although my main area of professional expertise is back-end web application development, I am also involved in implementing front-ends, and I have advanced knowledge of languages and technologies like HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Ajax etc.
As a web developer and programmer I value high coding standards, consistency across the whole codebase, using version control systems like SVN, maintaining separate dev-stage-production application environments, as well as using standardised deployment scripts. Also, I personally enjoy clean, consistent, easy to use, widely accessible and web-standards compliant websites, and I always strive to create such myself, whenever I have a chance.
I am also passionate about mobile and telecommunication technologies and fundamentals. That also includes mobile web development and accessing web content from mobile devices.
