Bangalore Area, India
I am an Interaction designer with four years of industry experience in designing business applications and supporting user experience activities for Oracle's application division. I started my career as an Usability Engineer with PeopleSoft and later moved to Oracle Applications User Experience group as an Interaction design lead. I've designed solutions across various domains including CRM, SCM, Manufacturing, US Govt. Contracts, OnDemand solutions for various mainstream products from PeopleSoft Enterprise, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne, Siebel CRM, Oracle Fusion etc. I have recently worked as the lead designer for Oracle's first ever Fusion Applications for Sales, which were showcased in Oracle Openworld 2007.
In my spare time, I prefer to get involved in bringing HCI community together through organizing conferences, connecting with academic institutions and student community from various design schools in India. I am also an active member of ACM SIGCHI, UPA, IxDA and Computer Society of India, and visited various HCI conferences including CHI 2006 at Montreal Canada.
I graduated from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur with Master’s degree in design. My academic research was focused on interactions for touch screen interfaces, and I developed a touch screen based navigation system for IIT Kanpur’s academic campus. I also hold a Bachelors degree in Computer Science & Engineering with major in Software Engineering and Communication Systems.

One Week Coursework, Interaction Design Practicum, 2007 — 2007
This crash course was focused on improvising the existing software development processes by introducing user centered design methods. Alan cooper and his team gave an insight into the need of effective user research to make a significant impact on the final designs. key topics covered in the workshop were: Design principles, defining team structures, User research, ethnographic interviewing techniques, modeling, profiles and personas, creating context scenarios and storyboards, defining data and functional needs, generating requirements, framework definitions, design communication, design validations.

Master of Design, Media and Communication Design, Human Computer Interface, Human Factors, 2002 — 2004
My first step towards a formal design education. Most exiting years of my life where I came to know a lot more about how less I knew about the deep ocean of knowledge. Met big intellects and researchers in such a powerhouse of knowledge.
Started here with designing an interactive dustbin for children which motivated them towards better disposal of garbage. Worked on an advertisement to promote Kannauj as a place of Indian heritage. Developed a new car wiper using a robotic arm in order to provide a variable range on the windshield. Worked on a Human Heart valve development in association with AIIMS Delhi and IIT Kanpur.
My Final thesis was focused on designing interfaces for touch screen systems. The final product was a map navigation system using a touch screen information kiosk
B.Tech., Computer Science & Engineering, 1998 — 2002
I achieved an entirely new personality in KNIT. Then a shy and low profile Me jumped into a pool of opportunities, learning, computers, friends, and thrilling atmosphere.
More then academic coursework I was interested in learning Computers, playing computer games, developing ugly but interesting animations in C, developing functional ERP's for Drug Store Inventory using FoxPro, imitating automatic railway announcement system using Visual Basic, creating collage's first ever IVR system for student semester results enquiry.
Apart from all this I managed to perform immature dance skills on collages stage, performed and directed serious and humorous skit and plays. I contributed towards fine arts club by leading the club for 3 years and setting-up a photo developing studio in collage. Won many prizes in various events like photography, sketching, debates, dance, singing, skit and plays etc. Organized workshops on basics of computer hardware and basics of photography
Schooling 1986 — 1998
I was the active member of Scouts and guides. Won zonal level competitions in science projects. Participated in AIDS campaigns at High School level
