For arts listing website Art&Education (a collaboration with Artforum), rewrote the site from the ground up in CakePHP, including a flexible CMS and an email subscription tool.

For online magazine canopycanopycanopy.com, built dynamic JS-based layout mechanism for page-delineated presentation of text and media, as well as a custom CMS in Rails for editorial production and user-facing site navigation

For news rating service NewsTrust.net, led a four-person engineering team through a six-month rewrite into Ruby on Rails (slimming the codebase from 70k to 20k lines), from early planning through release. Oversaw all aspects of the system from user experience and administrative/editorial tools through data and system architecture. Additionally:
• Co-designed and built dynamic and powerful web-based tools for rating news content based on a flexible set of criteria and for entering news item metadata
• Migrated years of legacy data from an object store to dozens of relational MySQL tables
• Implemented a calculation system for aggregating numeric user data using multi-weighted averages, including a finely-tuned member reputation algorithm
• Organized and visualized user data into page layouts

For PhotoShow DVD Service, designed and implemented a back-end media production system in Java, including data architecture, BPM workflow, automated graphic design from user-submitted content and a custom user interface for shipping from manufacturing facility
For PhotoShow desktop application, built web communication layer, employing an internal revision control system for managing transferred media
