Freelance Creative Director
San Francisco Bay Area
Nearly 20 years of award winning results in direct response, design and advertising. A very diplomatic fellow who remains calm and keeps an eye on the big picture even in the midst of absolute chaos. Excellent problem solving abilities, strong interpersonal communication skills and an innate talent for leadership. And most people tell me I’m a decent enough guy.
Currently I am available for freelance or fulltime work.
• Developed award-winning campaigns for Microsoft, Nortel, Nestle and Honeywell. Work includes extensive interactive and streaming Internet advertising, CEO mailings and Global DR campaigns.
• Key concepter and driver of the extremely successful viral site “msdewey.com”. This site promotes Windows Live Search using the character Miss Dewey, who comments on your searches while you search. Comprised of almost 500 separate responses, this video-based site had over 9 million hits in the first three months it has been live, surpassing other viral sites in it’s impact. Remarkably, this site was cash positive for the client, paying for itself in the long run.
• Directly managed approximately 15 art directors, designers and writers on a variety of Microsoft clients from Office, Microsoft Dynamics, to Mid-market and Small Business. Direct report to Rob Bagot, ECD and responsible with my partner for the entire creative output of MRM. The work was primarily CRM and includes developing specific efforts against the targets, as well as leveraging advertising efforts “below the line”. Responsibilities included managing all Art Directors through a period of intense growth where the department went from 12 to 60 in a 12-month period.
Lead creative on accounts including Microsoft, Nortel, Visa, Nestle, and Sony. Developed strategies and presented to clients at all levels. Managed creative teams on tight deadlines in high-stress environments. Equally comfortable in front of the client or crafting mechanicals.
Expert in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Office. Skilled in BBEdit, DreamWeaver, Flash, and Javascript coding. Knowledgeable about XML, CSS, AJAX, DHTML and other current technologies.
