  Foodista is a web-based cooking encyclopedia aimed at creating an online repository of culinary knowledge including recipes, information on foods and tools, and instructions on cooking or preparation techniques. Using Amazon Web Services and a combination of open-source and internally developed tools, I created a highly-available, highly-scalable web application with a multitude of advanced features. User-facing features include social integration with Flickr and Twitter, revision history, specialized recipe parsers, amongst many others. Internally, there are many advanced technologies which provide real-time data on user interaction, allow for post-processing of created content, and provide data APIs for internal services.
