Marie Curie Fellow at Philips Research
Eindhoven Area, Netherlands
I am beginning my position at Philips Research as part of a my Marie Curie Fellowship where my work will turn into my Ph.D. thesis at the Technical University Delft where I will be concurrently enrolled.
I also take on side project as a new media consultant who does work in the area of strategy, design, usability, accessibility, and user experience. See my website for the kinds of services I offer and rates.
I am deeply entrepreneurial, and often look at business implications in most any domain I am working in. I temper all my business decisions with consideration for the long-term ethical, social, and environmental implications of the situation.
I have also worked for and/or invested in early stage technology companies, rode the dot com roller coaster and experienced the eventual crash. I have been an active investor and trader for almost a decade in the equities, options, and futures markets.
My long-term goals include: Enjoying marriage and family life, establishing fun traditions with children and my wife, and building a substantial passive income that will allow me to devote more of my time to activities that are highly worthwhile, but not always highly compensated such as volunteering, and advocating/activism on important issues, and teaching.
The values I cherish are honesty, hard work, recognition of the intrinsic value of human life/dignity, excellence, faith, and treating our environment with respect.
"A life without deep and consistent introspection is no life at all."
