Aaron D'Angelo's Summary

Currently pursing my MBA degree at the University at Buffalo while working at Synacor working on developing new partnerships with TV Networks. I plan to concentrate in both Marketing and Supply Chain to get a better understand of the overall process of how a company interacts with consumers.

I have been accepted into the LeaderCORE program at UB which examines the qualities that will truly make myself better as a manager and develop those skills to the fullest. There have been several leadership roles in my past including Class President, Resident Assistant, multiple team projects, as well as several other college club executive boards.

After I have finished my MBA, my goal is to pursue a career in the technology industry. Since technology is my passion and I have found a deep interest in all companies that have learned to innovate, I have done plenty of research on various technology companies.

    • January 2014 to May 2014

    - Worked in the First year MBA team of 6 members to recommend strategies and suggestions to financially turn around the company Primo Water Inc. - which was constantly incurring heavy losses.
    - Delivered a presentation on our recommendations to a panel of board members - who critically evaluated the recommendations and strategies.
    - A total of 18 MBA teams participated in the case competition and made their respective presentations to six panel of judges.

    All first-year MBAs in the University at Buffalo's full-time program took part in the Eighth Annual Steven C. Verney MBA Case Competition. Eighteen teams made presentations to six panels of judges over the course of four days in late April and early May. Each team was assigned a separate case focusing on a distressed company facing serious operational and financial issues. Participants had to formulate a plan to turn around the troubled company and improve its long-term prospects for survival.

    In a MBA marketing class, Market Planning, classmates are divided into teams that must run a company throughout the semester and compete with all other teams. Team members must make decisions such as Advertising Expenditures, Production Levels, R&D, Sales Force Distribution, and Market Research. In addition, we had to study the competition in order to perform well.

    The team that I was on was ended up placing first with the competition having the highest Cumulative ROI of 3.67, Highest Cumulative Revenue of $1.6 Billion, Highest Stock Price of $2,900, and Highest Market Capitalization of $885 Million. The simulation ran for 9 periods (years) and was based off of the decisions our firm made each period. I was in charge of calculating Advertising Expenditures and Production Levels. After quickly establishing a method to establishing these costs, I would help each of my teammates with their decisions and weigh in based on what I incurred from studying the competition.

    Discovered a project that involved restoration of a piece of land that a local church was unable to use as intended due to uneven grounds and flooding. Projected consisted of restoring a fire pit with level grounds, new benches, retaining blocks, and walkways. Lead a team of about 12 volunteers to completed the project within 10 hours.
