Jason Blanton and I brought Wordcamp to Columbus on May 16, 2009 on the campus of Columbus State Community College. The event focused on WordPress, a popular content management system. We recruited sponsors and speakers, including three members of Automattic, the company behind wordpress.com. Blogger / Twitterer I publish the blog the270, http://the270.com, which is a blog about Columbus. It was on this blog that I first wrote about Startup Weekend, encouraging people from Columbus to vote to bring the event here.
I*m fairly decent at using Twitter to advance my causes. Most notably, I raised interest in bringing Wordcamp to Columbus via Twitter. Through my use, I was able to get a venue, sponsors and attendees. I*m; Transactional Negotiate software license agreements, professional services agreements and non-disclosure agreements.
