  • Subject Matter Expert

    ASX Corporate Governance Council

    (Capital Markets industry)

    2004Present (5 years)

The Corporate Governance Council sets out the governance frameworks by which all companies listed on the Australian Stock Exchange should operate. Organisations in other sectors draw on this group's work as best practice in governance. Worked with them from their first release of the Principles and Best Practice Recommendations through to the 2007 re-release with specific focus on pragmatic risk management guidelines which could be applied in all sectors and were harmonious with other jurisdictions and legislative requirements.

    January 2003October 2007 (4 years 10 months)

Fairfax Media Ltd is the premier media company in Australia and New Zealand with operations in print, digital, radio and other new media.

I was brought into Fairfax as a change agent to create an internal audit function which would drive significant change through the business.

During my time there initiated and drove nearly 1,000 business improvements from inception through to completion and post-audit, resulting in a far stronger and more profitable company today.

We also implemented an approach to enterprise risk management focused on identifying and managing strategic risk at the group and business unit level.
