Conducted an assessment of markets for Solomon Islands copra and cocoa and their
derivatives with a particular emphasis on the quality aspect of the industry. Identified
options for industry engagement in a quality improvement initiative, and developed
proposals for donor intervention in support of this process. This consultancy required both
desk research skills as well as considerable stakeholder facilitation, across government,
statutory and private sector spheres.

development of SI High Court interpretation services for the Case Support Unit. This
assignment involved assessing the distribution and availability of interpretation skill sets,
and designing in consultation with justice sector stakeholders, a number of ethical,
financial and information systems required for the development and sustenance of high
quality court interpretation services.

Carrying out a comprehensive situation analysis for the SI Ministry of Health as part of its
national health review process. The situation analysis required identification and
forecasting of key health determinants for Solomon Islands national health over the 10
year period 2004-2014. The analysis involves review of a range of information sources,
including national, regional and international data sources and review literature, as well as
consultations with stakeholders and health professionals.

Solomon Islands country researcher for the *National Integrity Systems, PACific Islands,
project executed by Transparency International (Australia), funded by AusAID. Research
carried out was into the provisions for and operations of, key anticorruption institutions in
Solomon Islands, in all three branches of the state, the private sector and civil society.
This work included detailed interviews and institutional audit of key bodies and actors, as
well as multi-stakeholder focus group discussions on issues of concern to corruption.

Coordinated and moderated the Iu Mi Nao Solomon Islands email network. Iu Mi Nao
developed from an small email discussion group, into an informal email list at its largest, of
more than one hundred and fifty individuals sharing news, discussion, comment and
argument on a regular basis. It comprises Solomon Islanders, academics specialising in
the Solomons, and `friends of the Solomons' from a variety of backgrounds. Iu mi nao was
particularly active during the early period of the civil conflict, and much of its discourse has
been represented in published analysis, including the recent book by Prof. Clive Moore of
the University of Queensland "Hapi Isles in Crisis: the Historical ".

A founding director of PHCG, and directly responsible for opportunity intelligence, proposal
and bid development and contract negotiation. In the first 2 months of this position, PHCG
was successfully awarded more than SBD1.05 million in consulting contracts and remains
shortlisted for a further SBD1.2 million in contracts. A further NZD80,000 in contracts were
awarded in the month of February 2008 in association with the University of Canterbury.
