My eight nonfiction books, including The Soft Edge (1997), Digital McLuhan (1999), Realspace (2003), and Cellphone (2004), have been the subject of major articles in the New York Times, Wired, the Christian Science Monitor, and have been translated into nine languages. New New Media will be published in 2009. I appear on "The O'Reilly Factor" (Fox News), "The CBS Evening News," " Scarborough Country" (MSNBC), the "NewsHour with Jim Lehrer" (PBS), "Nightline" (ABC) and numerous national and international TV and radio programs. I was interviewed about media issues every Sunday, 7:20am, on KNX1070 All News Radio in Southern California, streaming live on www.knx1070.com , from 2006-2008, and have been quoted thousands of times in major newspapers around the world. I'm author of five science fiction novels. The Silk Code won the Locus Award for Best First Novel of 1999. I've since published Borrowed Tides (2001), The Consciousness Plague (2002), The Pixel Eye (2003), and The Plot To Save Socrates (2006). My science fiction and mystery short stories have been nominated for Nebula, Hugo, Edgar, and Sturgeon Awards. I maintain several blogs, most notably InfiniteRegress.tv, and produce several podcasts, the best known of which are Light On Light Through and Levinson News Clips. I'm Professor of Communication & Media Studies at Fordham University in New York City.
