Publisher with P&L responsibility at five companies whose titles earned from $1 to $3 million in corporate groups grossing up to $10 million annually. Audited circulation of these business-to-business publications ranged from 1,500 to 25,000 copies. Magazines include monthly and bi-monthly trade glossies, tabloid news magazines and tradeshow issues with buyer’s guides and directories numbering 1200 pages. Management roles include supervising ales, circulation, marketing and editorial teams of up to 50 in multiple offices. Five of the seven trade titles I launched in the past 10 years remain in print.

- Chaired the Society of Professional Journalists Ethics Committee that published the book “Doing Ethics In Journalism.” Presided over three local chapters, served as an SPJ Region Director and co-chaired SPJ’s 1998 national convention, and was received the 22,000-member association’s Howard S. Dubin Award as outstanding member.

Launched Below the Line, a 15,000 circulation 22 issue tabloid distributed to film & television crew with a successful Hollywood screening series and online production listings. This title employs a staff of five, grosses $1.1 million annually. I worked two years as editor and remain an equity holder. Initial client investment: $10,000.

Team produced a dozen directories, a magazine and a show daily for the film and video production industry worldwide with a staff of 45 in two U.S. offices and one in England. The lead directory won a WPA Maggie in 1999 for excellence.
I was hired to stimulate fast-growth by launching several titles prior to sale. The property tripled in value to bring more than $15 million. Promoted to publisher following the acquisition by Cahners (now Reed Business Information).
At RBI I managed a sales team of nine full-time reps and two sales managers in LA/NYC and London.
Developed a global website blending 70,000 records into a relational, region-focused database.
Launched three new print directories and their online counterparts and managed the 2001 merger with London-based Variety Media Publications (owned by RBI).
