Kristi Ikemire’s Summary
After obtaining a fine arts degree from the University of Illinois, Kristi Ikemire stepped foot onto the world of graphic design. Kristi has since worked for Harpo Productions, The Bond Group, and CBS. Kristi continues to work for CBS today, and is also the owner of her freshly launched business, KMI Design.
Ikemire graduated in 2002 and began her career working as a graphic designer for The Bond Group in Chicago, Illinois. Her duties ranged anywhere from creating websites, brochures and identities, to retouching images and preparing files for final output.
Kristi worked for The Bond Group until 2005, when she took a position as a graphic designer for CBS 2 Chicago. While at WGN 9 CW, Kristi Ikemire worked as a Motion Graphics Designer. She designed graphics for contest and promotional spots such as the Southwest Airlines' "How Far Did It Fly" that appears during Chicago Cubs games. Kristi also designed opens, lower thirds and other animating elements for programming specials such as Chicago's "St. Patrick's Day Parade" and "Signsation's Humanitarian Awards". For Harpo Productions, Kristi Ikemire worked as a motion graphics designer, where she created graphics for the popular Oprah Winfrey Show.
Aside from her experiences with these major production companies, Ikemire’s decision to start her personal business may be her most exciting career venture yet. In 2007 she started KMI-design, where their main focus is creating video slideshows for any special occasion. Ikemire works closely with her clients to make sure that the final piece is the only one of its kind, and exactly to their liking.
Working in many different environments has allowed Kristi to really gain a lot of command over her work and excel in the graphic design community. In 2006, Ikemire was a silver recipient of the Broadcast Designer’s Association Award.
