Mechanical Engineer since 1992 (BSME). College work focus at Clarkson and Rensselaer was Thermal Science / Energy / Mechanical Systems. Experience includes work designing high-technology polymeric fasteners in the 1990's, computer systems and programming work thoughout my career, and industrial controls / robotic systems product management work, 2000 - 2003. Also, worked at a U.S. Federal Government Mechanical Research Laboratory (Army Civilian Federal Employee, Benet Laboratories, 2005 - 2006). Studied a second language (German) while pursuing my BSME, and have traveled for work internationally since 1990's (Canada and Western Europe). Craftech machines and injection-molds engineered fasteners, structural components, and small non-ferrous parts in over (90) application-specific plastics. Craftech also designs and manufactures injection mold tools. I assisted in the acquisition of business used to finance mold tools.

While working at Craftech, I was an active member of the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE), and attended - along with Craftech ownership and colleague - meetings in Hudson NY - Pittsfield MA - and NYS Capital Region, including a tour of GE's state-of-the-art Polymer Processing Development Center (PPDC) in Pittsfield (Husky and CD-Media Molding Machine tour).

Managed NT/VAX computer networks (both servers and workstations). Specified, purchased, installed and upgraded new PCs, printers, and other PC/VAX networking equipment, for both engineers and non-engineering staff. Supported SolidWorks engineering workstations. Supported OCE large-plot (including blue-prints) engineering plotters. Installed Linux operating system to an engineering workstation. Installed and configured Sealevel-Systems CNC-Lathe controller PC cards. Migrated company enterprise software and telephone systems to Y2K compliant.

As Systems Administrator, supported Graphics Designer in first-ever web site launch effort by reserving domain name and purchasing needed software, hardware and Internet service. Registered and maintained multiple domain names for Craftech ownership with Network Solutions, and worked with AT&T for both Internet and corporate telephone accounts. Was issued a Craftech Industries American Express Corporate Card - in my name - for computer and engineering equipment purchases.

Cavalry Scout (19-D) + MANPADS Stinger Missile Soldier

To earn money for a competitive, private engineering college - Clarkson University (Potsdam, NY) - that I planned to attend, I enlisted and initially performed approximately 4-months of basic and advanced "Cav-Scout" training at the U.S. Army facility at Fort Knox, Kentucky.

As a 19-D Cav Scout, I was initially attached to the U.S. Army's 1st Battalion / 210th Armor Division, based out of Albany, New York's New Scotland Avenue Armory (across from Albany Medical Center).

Later, when the 1st-of-the-210th Armor was re-organized by the U.S. Army, my Albany-based squad was re-trained at Fort Bliss, Texas, and I became qualified as a MANPADS / Stinger Missile soldier, and received a *security clearance* for handling this sensitive weapon system.

After retraining, my squad was then attached to the 1st Battalion, 69th Infantry Regiment, a component of the New York State National Guard's 42nd Infantry "Rainbow Division", with a headquarters at an armory in New York City (Manhattan).

Before and while attending Clarkson University, I executed (6) years of one-weekend-per-month, 2-weeks per year national guard "active" training, at local armories and at Fort Drum. After my initial six years, I then served (2) years in-active "ready-reserve", and was eligible to be called to duty (activated) in case of state or federal emergency, by either the NYS governor or by the U.S. President.

Eric Kathe was primary author, lab manager and an adjunct professor in the mechanical engineering department at Union College (Schenectady, New York). I worked with senior fatigue laboratory engineer Jack Keating and hydraulic-hammer technicians to perform testing that factored into Dr. Kathe's publication and presentation in Florida. I investigated function and then produced a colorized AutoCAD drawing to demonstrate hydraulic flow in our lab's hammer, with my work - and that of my colleagues - used by Dr. Kathe at his 2005 Destin, Florida symposium.
