I have more than 20 years' experience in teaching and performing, a Master's degree in Music with a specialty in Baroque and pre-Baroque music, and 7 years' experience in Europe as a teacher and performer. In piano and voice, I teach exclusively classical music and my teaching is limited to 16 hours per week, so that I can give each of my students my personal attention and have time to do research to correct technical deficiencies and develop repertoire. Instruction also includes attention to music history and theory, in order that my students become well-rounded performers with a thorough grounding in the field.
Baroque and pre-Baroque music, in keyboard instruments and voice, vocal health for speakers, call center employees, sales people and anyone whose voice is vital to their work.

I specialize in taking ordinary students and helping them realize their full potential as musicians. Students are taught to perform in a healthy, relaxed manner to avoid injury and to progress to performance level as quickly as possible. My personal sheet music collection comprises over eight million pages, and I have borrowing privileges in libraries, historical societies, and collections all over the United States and Europe. All of this music is available to students at no charge. In addition, I provide advice on auditioning, performing, and how to realize a financial return from lessons.
Piano lessons:
Sightreading and playing classical pieces by prominent composers from all eras, as well as scales and technical exercises, are incorporated into lessons from the first day. Students are accepted from age 4 depending on ability, with no upper age limit.
Voice lessons:
Students are taught to produce sound in a healthy and relaxed manner. Once that is firmly established, the applications to music and technical exercises follow very quickly, allowing the natural beauty of their voices and their range of expression to be showcased in their performances. Younger students are accepted according to their maturity, with no upper age limit.
I also work with people who use their voices in their work: call center employees, sales professionals, ministers, teachers, college professors and public speakers. Since we use the same voice for singing and speaking, the principles of healthy vocal function apply just as much to people whose professional lives depend on their speaking voice as those principles do to singers.
