EA Connections

a subgroup of BP Group

EA Connections
The purpose of this subgroup is to promote productive collaboration across the Business Process Management (BPM) and Enterprise Architecture (EA) Communities. Both BPM and EA show great promise in providing effective responses to the multi-faceted challenges enterprises face in the 21st century. Each can also get caught up in the eddies of analysis paralysis or bogged down in Inside-Out complexity. Together, what should be a complementary, interdependent and even mutually reinforcing relationship is all too often little more than (and sometimes much less than!) benign coexistence.

The intent here is to explore the touch-points in both the theory and the practice of EA and BPM. The subgroup provides a forum to share case studies, success stories and concrete examples of productive collaboration as well as suggest theoretical underpinnings and possible areas of investigation. Rigor and pragmatism are especially valued (in equal measure!). The goal is also to create a supportive community of practitioners that lends a sympathetic ear and encouraging voice to those suffering the inevitable wounds that accompany living on the bleeding edge of major change. Sharing our challenges and frustrations creates an opportunity to tap into the collective wisdom and creativity of our fellow travelers.
