The Software Quality Discussion Group, SQDG, is a community of software professionals in Calgary, Alberta Canada. We are dedicated to the exploration of all aspects of software quality, with a special emphasis on providing software professionals with a means of sharing their experiences.

To advance the thinking and practices around software quality through the investigation and discussion of all aspects of software quality.

We fulfill our mission by:
* Fostering a local community for software quality professionals;
* Hosting monthly sessions with guest speakers from industry and academia;
* Providing the community with an open forum in which to share expertise;
* Organizing networking events;
* Promoting a professional image of software quality in the local hi-tech community;
* Cooperating with other local and international software quality and software testing groups.

History
The group came into being around 2000 as a study group for individuals planning on sitting the American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Software Quality Engineer (CSQE) exam. Since those early days our focus has shifted towards discussion and examination of all aspects of software development,software quality and testing.
