Children's Institute for Learning Differences (CHILD)

With two therapeutic day schools, CHILD currently serves 50 children full-time who come to our Mercer Island campus from throughout the Puget Sound. CHILD staff and faculty use the organization’s cumulative 32 years experience to design and develop customized therapeutic and educational programs for students who have not been successful in less comprehensive educational settings. Our efforts are focused on both behavioral and learning challenges and therefore allow us to utilize multiple modalities of treatment simultaneously. Few traditional school settings are designed with that flexibility or access to treatment. Our on-site mental health specialists, occupational therapists and speech therapists allow us to work in an integrated approach to address the whole child and support the full realization of each child’s potential.
