We Are Orange County!™ (WAOC™) - California

We Are Orange County!™ (WAOC™) is a networking group that was created on May 20, 2009 to convince LinkedIn to give Orange County its own location code. After a long fight using Social Media, Traditional Media and the persistence of the group this goal was achieved on October 2, 2009. We plan to continue to support everything that makes Orange County so unique and different from our neighbors in Los Angeles & San Diego.

The main group’s primary focus is to help foster networking, grow business, as well as supporting non profit groups that help Orange County residents.
 
The sub groups (OC Job Club, Social Media 3.0 Think Tank & Business Networking Community) have been created to ensure that these topics get the focus they deserve. Please don’t post anything related to the subgroups on the main discussion board.
 
We at WAOC™ believe and live the mission of “paying it forward” and highly encourage that all participants in the group follow the same values.
 
The idea of “Pay it Forward” originated from a novel by the same name in 2000. The premise begins with one person doing a favor for another person without any expectation of being paid back. In turn that person would request that the recipient of that favor do the same for someone else or preferably for three other people. The unconditional favors can be large or small depending on whom you do it for. There’s no limitations to what we can do, when you set out to Pay It Forward!
