YLS is a program of United Way that encourages young community stakeholders to have a positive impact on their community by participating in volunteering, educational, networking and fundraising events. YLS is ideal for young professionals because activities are typically held during a few hours over weekends and affords opportunities to develop philanthropically, socially and professionally.

* Directing financial contributions to United Way, an organization that has built solid relationships with millions of donors and organizations over the years.

* Facilitating the development of relationships with other professionals across the Chicagoland by hosting networking events with Tocqueville Society members who are well known and connected in the community and who donate their time and energy to United Way.

* Hosting educational events that provide a wealth of information and resources to YLS members on health and human service related topics.

* Extending the opportunity for members to serve in leadership positions as part of a YLS committee.
