The philosophy behind BizzComm (UBC Business Communications Club) is to improve students’ interpersonal skills essential to compete in the business world today. Helping to mould students into future leaders, BizzComm is proudly apart of the Sauder School of Business, one of the best in the world.

Our mission is simple: improve our members’ communication skills to give them the edge in the classroom and eventually, in the workforce. Because building strong communication skills is critical regardless of a student’s career path, BizzComm welcomes students from all faculties. Unlike profession-focused clubs around campus, BizzComm is a club that fills a need at every workplace. We provide opportunities to hone your skills in networking, negotiation, communication, leadership, public speaking , you name it!

Want to learn from the actual leaders? We’ve got it covered. We bring in renowned leaders of Canada’s leading institutions. In addition, we bring you executive coaches, etiquette consultants, and professional speakers to come to our workshops and speaker series. Oh, and did we mention that members get free food at our socials and events?

One of our signature events, Style and the City, has established itself as one of the most prominent event of the year. Focusing on dining etiquette and personal brand management,it is an elegant evening hosted at the Four Seasons Hotel where students can practice and learn useful skills for the corporate world. SpeakOut Public Speaking Competition, the university’s first and largest, offers one-on-one sessions with prominent public speaking coaches for candidates.

Finally, we end you with our club motto: Don’t just break the ice, melt it. « less
