The University of Minnesota's Support the U program was created to build and engage a network of advocates who care about the university and enlist them to promote its educational, research and economic contributions to Minnesota and beyond. Through mass and leadership/ key contact advocacy, the program helps to raise awareness about the U's legislative and congressional initiatives and policy issues affecting the University and higher education.

Faculty, staff, students, parents, alumni, community members and others are all active participants in the Support the U efforts. As an advocate for the University it is our collective goal to build and maintain statewide awareness of the value of the University of Minnesota, its prestige as both the state land-grant university and Minnesota's only research university, and its significance as the key economic driver for the state of Minnesota. « less
