Hi there,

I have been working in project management for the last 15 years, including 4 years of teaching in an MBA at a business school.

Despite all the movements around project management in the past years, the reality is that neither CEOs nor MBAs nor business press consider project management as a critical topic. CEOs don't see the full value, they don't understand that project management is the key (and only way) to achieve their strategic goals, they don't know that to become good at project management (and project portfolio management) you need to invest time and resources, that it is a cultural change. The same goes for the business press and business schools. If you that HBR for example, project management is hardly address as a topic in their articles. The same goes for the top MBAs, project management is not even an elective, yet all, and here I am sure, ALL their MBA graduates will need to deal, to manage, to sponsor projects in their after MBA careers.

And there are many other related topics which I believe are not been addressed at all. I have been member of most of the project management, portfolio management groups in linkedin, but they almost never talk about project management issues, which can be very technical, but don't address the bigger picture.

So, if you share the same frustrations as me, and you want to help find new ways of looking and talking about project management, program management and project portfolio management, ....and they way all these professional disciplines help are crutial to bridge the gap between strategy planning and strategy execution / strategy implementation.....you are welcomed to join this think tank.

Looking forward hearing from you ..... « less
