Is silverlight and flash days are numbered? What is the point working with them? They going to die pretty soon.

Dumb ass question. MS has spent a lot of time and money on the XAML based techs. Just because they have a paradigm shift does not mean it's time to forget them. There is a long way to go yet before JavaScript and other sandboxed techs take over.

Mr Rich. Grow up!!! it is a DUMB ASS comment.
Do you know why a browser needs a plugin? because one cannot draw images and graphs in a browser (old versions). Yesteryear browsers does not support SVG.

As HTML5 is pretty much out, why do you need a plugin technology? There are more security vulnerabilties with plugins.

Get familiar with technologies before answering.

Devender , if only all we wanted to do was to draw pretty pictures via an unratified standard. I very much understand current and future techs...

Just follow HTML5 and CSS3; as the browsers gets more powerful the plugin technology will diminish. Google already have a utility which converts Flash to HTML5 and Windows 8 is plugin free. All these plugins are proprietary.

Technology is moving to Open Formats no more proprietary.

Indeed - but I suspect you are not as long in the tooth in software
development as I am. There 'are' benefits to plugin development that
    browsers continually mess up.

    I don't deny that.

See, you are responding from an IPhone which does not support Flash. As we aware Iphone is the mostly used phone in the world. it did survive without plugin.
