I started blogging back in 2006.Much has changed in the blogosphere when I look back now. Sometimes it’s good. Sometimes it’s bad.One of the most effective ways to build backlinks, drive traffic, and connect with the blog owners was through comments back when I started. It was pretty much like guest blogging right now.

Interesting and helpful insights as I begin my boomernewsnet.com blog. I have noticed supposedly popular blogs with few if any comments typically posted. I got a comment to each of my first two blog posts, which was gratifying, but as you point out, what will that get me in the long run?

Blogging comments still works in building stronger relationship with others!

At the end of the day, don't we all write to get our audience to read? Backlinks are just a passive way of achieving it.

Nancy i earn a full time living this way for twelve years: you have two problems:
    1. lead capture strategy, clear target market and offer, sometimes called a 'call to action'
    2. You are not properly optimized, cannot be until you address number 1 above.

For instance, I was going to paste this string onto the original article to illustrate a leverage technique, which would have helped you, but your message about moderation was placed out front - terrible- you can moderate the first comment without saying so before I am sucked in duh! You are oversimplifying this question, and it's answer - you cannot separate results and tracking from original and overall strategy.
