I'm very interested and have 8 years of professional VO experience. I produce clean, edited, high quality audio out of my professional home studio with a very quick turn-around time. If you provide us with a more direct way to contact you I would be happy to email you demos. In the meantime, you can hear some demos and learn more about me here http://www.gbvoice.com.
Thank you,
Genevieve Baer

A hard time with others. We have
been in business for 21 years
And with our new contract with
NFIB (300k small biz owners) our volume supports multiple vo talents with
"volume work"
Good luck in all your endeavors, but please don't poo-poo on mine:)

Needless to say I wish every business person good fortune especially in these tough times. My above comment was directed at other voice over people, about 95% of whom are making nothing from the business or just about scratching a living. Sadly the income derived often has nothing to do with the quality of the voice over person (how many awful actors can we name who are multi-millionaires?)
There are a number of good companies looking for VO people for whom the promise of volume work justifies the the low per script rate, for them that makes perfect business sense. What we VOs need to do is to eother get some form of minimum level of work guarantee, by session, by the week or monthly. If we do not do this then the volume discounted rate (the lowest I've done is $30) stays in place regardless of volume. For 20 scripts in one session $10 per script makes perfect business sense for company and voice but a $10 "one off" makes no sense at all. Concorde from London to New York worked out for business people at around $2 per mile but $2 would not get me from my house to the local convenience store using Concorde (business opportunity?).
For the VO the exercise is easy - I promise to voice for, in Michael's case, $10 per script. For Michael and other businesses like his the reciprocal promise is very difficult to make.
Do we as VOs charge a higher fee to start and once the client hits a minimum volume level we then apply the discount?
As an example.
Bob approaches me and asks about my fees. I tell him I have a minimum session fee of $300 for non-broadcast work. Ouch dood! He only pays $15 per script. That's ok I am not in the business of spending money he doesn't have. Solution one - Warn the client if the want to use me there will be a "HOW MUCH!" premium charged over and above what the production company would normally charge OR we simply agree to keep a rolling invoice for 30 days after which I will submit it for payment, the final amount being either $300 or the total of $15 scripts which ever is the greater.
Is that helpful?

Christoph W. • How can any serious voiceartist be interested in this?
And how can a serious company have the chuzpa to ask for such rates?
This is killing business for people who do that for a living.
Just my 2 cents.
Mike
Mike M. • While I agree with Philip and Christoph on this one - I've got to ask; how do you define a "script"? In any field, saying "x dollars per y" is vague if "y" isn't properly defined. And anyone that says "Sign me up!" without having "y" first defined is, well... probably not considering any potential downside.
