Lindiwe Thembekile

I'm excited on what South Africa is doing with Solar Energy. My only concern is how do we educate the consumers (product users) on what the solar systems are & how they are to be maintained?

Hi Michelle, thanks for this information. I am working with a few EPCs and I know some small companies looking at having partners to supply them. I will definitely keep your contacts close by.

Hi Lindiwe, for the African maket, we recommend off grid solar systems. They are simple to install and easy to use. As a top manufacturer for solar charge controllers and inverters, we can provide whole solar home system unit for basic household electricity need. Regarding to the actual use, our detailed manual will tell the end users how to install and use carefully. Not complicated job. Please add my skype, I will send you more details for checking. Skype: joannasheen. Thanks.

BTW, my email is joanna@epsolarpv.com. Company website is www.epsolarpv.com, (we are upgrading to a new website, so might not be that stable at the moment.)

I think what Lindiwe is asking for is about how people are educated on the use of solar. Instead of making useful contribution to this topic, you are rather trying to sell. Doesn't seem mature to me!

SA is indeed doing good in this area. On the utility scale solar projects, I don't think much need to be told to the ordinary person since it comes as the conventional energy to the user but at the small scale level, lots of education is required. If you are in the educational sector or out of personal interest, you need to know how to maintain these systems, e-mail me at joseph@yandalux.com. We have many projects in Africa and advise our clients regulary on how to use them properly.

Hi Joanna - much obliged and I will add you on skype for more details.

Hi Joseph, thank you for your contribution and you have understood the crux of my concern which is educating the users. We in South Africa have had horrible cases where the system was installed incorrectly and damage was caused to children and the house. It really is becoming the next worst killer after cancer. I will be sure to drop you an email and perhaps see how we can combat this problem.
