Dahlia

I'm co-producing a meetings technology expo, and wanted to know what hot topics would you want to see on the agenda? What technologies would you like to check out up close and personal?

Hey Dahlia, we were recently apart of running Event Camp DownUnder and for us our audience really enjoyed discussion on event apps, sustainability at events and hybrid events. All the best with the expo!

My company does a lot of event management software, web widgets and mobile apps. Let me know if I can help you with any speakers. You may also want to check out recent Expo Magazine tech survey to help guide your content development: http://www.expoweb.com/article/technology-survey-2012. Good luck.

Agree with Josh that anything related to event apps, hybrid and virtual events, augmented reality, cloud based collaboration/ planning tools and hosted reservation systems should rate high on the list of topics. I also find it is great to have a session on emerging technologies as well as the above that are already in use. I do look forward to reading more about your event.

Dahlia I just returned from SXSW and the hot topic there was social discovery apps: allowing you to meet new people in your vicinity based on the interests or contacts you share on various social platforms. The main ones that attracted the most attention were: Glancee and Highlight. There was also a really cool app in the works (not yet launched) that would allow you to find people around you with the skill-set that you may be looking for; as an example if our company Gauge Mobile is looking for a Graphic Designer the app (based on LinkedIn profile) would let me know if a graphic designer that may be looking for work is in my vicinity. Then I can choose to engage them via the app. Here is a blog that touched on a couple others: http://www.networkworld.com/news/2012/031112-glancee39s-vaccari-gives-sxsw-overview-257150.html

Thank you all for your comments. I will definitely keep you in the loop with the show! Tony, would love to know more about that really cool app that shows people around you with similar skill set. Have a great Sunday!

Ok - is it me, or I would love to learn about any new technologies that can help me with real-time metrics - engagement, attendee behavior (face-to-face and virtual), etc.? While all the new technology innovations are great, you still have to measure them in the end, right?
