The ICAEW Middle East Regional office opened in 2009 and is based in DIFC, Dubai, UAE.

The key focus of the office is to support ICAEW’s wider international strategy – to ensure the highest standards within the accountancy profession and to raise the profile of the profession.

Across the region ICAEW Middle East provides support to over 1,200 members and students, and works closely with governments, regulators and key stakeholders.

Recent activities range from the launch of the ICAEW Emiratisation scholarship scheme to attract local Emiratis into the profession, signing an MoU with the Higher Colleges of Technology, Abu Dhabi, launching an annual awards scheme for finance professionals, and responding to various consultation papers on proposed changes to financial structures and regulations. ICAEW also assists the DFSA with audit quality monitoring, and produces a series of thought leadership and technical events for both members and non-members, within the GCC. « less
