Does your hotel have a mobile app? How much money did you invest in it. What was your ROI?

thanks!

My last business venture was a digital signage network that serviced hotels. This experience allowed me to review the technology of over 130 hotels. Not one had an app. I am in New Mexico; so things are a little behind the times here. Still, an app can be expensive and hotels are stripped down to the bone right now. Very few hoteliers would invest in something like this, right now; in my experience.

That said could you please post or send me a copy of your findings from this survey?

    Thanks for your reply.
There's a site that has many reports. zanran.com they have lots of researches there.
As for mine, I have found out that customers are ready to go mobile, that they are more eager to purchase or make registrations from mobile device than from the website.
Hence, I am looking into different industries to see who these industries are that have this experience. And already many hotels out there that have mobile apps for customers.

Alexandra and Eliot, my company will be representing a mobile suite that brings the hotel's communications to guest's I-pad or smart phone. Guests will be able to place orders, make reservations, view menus, order housekeeping requests, room service, book excursions (and watch videos), and engage in a host of other interactions. Hotels will be able to notify guests of "specials" or other pertinent information. The product is affordable, scalable and easily modifieable by the hotel. The product will enhance guest relations, cut the hotel costs, and add to the bottom line. If you're interested in this technology, please reply privately to tech@PremierHotelRealty.com and I'll get you more information. Pricing for the launch will be especially attactive!

A short time ago the restaurant app came out that allowed ordering at the table; and all of the value statments made about it turnned out to be wrong. In hospitality people like and want to deal with people. When you spend $200 per night, you want a person to answer the phone and take your room service order.

Sorry I do not agree with your plan Rick; but I truly hope you can proven me wrong and find great success,

Interesting comments Eliot. Of course some do want to speak to a person. But sometimes they don't.

The great thing is that they can go either way. I would have never thought texting would have caught on the way it has, but isn't it convenient for so many things! Have you ever found yourself using the "chat box" in Skype, instead of talking (when talking was also an option)?

Plus, its amazing what these mobile apps can do! When the lounge, spa or restaurant is empty, management can broadcast a special. Post hours, maps, menus, videos of nearby excursions. View a bill. Request a bellhop, or that the valet bring around your car. Request a wake-up call. And so much more! And how about the guest being able to easily make those choices in a variety of languages!?

Today there are so many options for how people want their services delivered. We're excited to see how these develop and hope you'll be seeing more options available to you.

Thanks for all the inquiries about our interactive hotel app. We're getting ready for the US roll-out shortly. The app now runs on the guest's Ipadd and interacts with the hotel that can be on either Apple or PC platforms. It should work on guest's smartphones shortly.
