Walt

Hello everyone. I realize that the 300 Blackout is not really a long range round, but it looks interesting. Anyone shoot it?

    Walt,
You're correct that its not exactly in the long range category but it does have great mid-range accuracy and ballistics with the match grade ammo.
It offers a 220 gr. subsonic round thats great for close quarters. And, all of this can be had with a simple upper exchange on your existing M4 platform.

Same everything in an AR except the barrel. The round is based on the 5.56 necked up to .300 so the bolt does not even need to be changed.

I shot it a year ago just before the SHOT Show. Very interesting round. Was not able to shoot enough to do more than say I shot it in an AAC Model 7 with can.

Houston Armory and Robinson Arms are both making a great 300 weapon. OPS Inc makes a great suppressor for the platform! I don't have experience with Robinson Arms but have plenty of experience with Houston Armory's platform and it is amazing. It is a gerat CQB setup and will stop hogs in their tracks. If you have any questions about ballistics or specifications, contact Cris Parsons at Houston Armory (www.houstonarmory.com) and he can answer anything in great detail. Good luck and enjoy.

Also some 300 systems will also take the 300 whisper round which is more available than the blackout. 300 whisper is usually subsonic so it can be used both with and without silencers. Check with the barrel manufacurer first. I am using CMMG.
