Most in OE are aware of the "Stop and Frisk" laws and enforcement taking place here in NYC...the worst of its sort in the U.S.

This coming Fathers' Day Sunday, June 17, there will be a "silent march" in protest. Details can be found at http://bit.ly/KEy8uQ.

For a very compelling interview I did on this subject with activist Leslie Cagan, you can go here: bit.ly/M42lPI.

Please, if you are from this area or know those who are, cut and paste from this announcement and forward the request to them to participate or post at other LinkedIn groups.

I expect that OWS people, if not a full contingent, will be there in force.

Did you know that the ACLU has an app? To alert the neighborhood when a stop and frisk takes place?

Lester, with all due respect, you need to educate yourself about the reality of this stop and frisk policy in New York City. It is racial profiling, focuses often on arresting young people, especially blacks and Latinos for small amounts of marijuana and as records indicate, some young blacks have been stopped nearly 100 times before they are age 18. Would you like to live your life this way?

Jerry...I can only be there in spirit as I am living and working in China but please also send my best to Leslie Cagan who I knew 40 years ago along with her wonderful mom and too soon departed dad in Woodstock, NY.

Lester...I find your comments shocking. There is a huge difference between
airport security and being stopped on your street or followed into your
building. You seem so cavalier in your attitude and seem to have no
appreciation for how the lives of these young people are being derailed by
the draconian "War on Drugs". Is life really so simplistic for you? Do you
know the USA imprisons, by far, the largest percentage of people of any
developed country and yet we have a higher crime rate than most of them? I
assume you are an educated guy so please try to connect the dots rather
than make simplistic judgmental statements. You sound more like a scold
than an enlightened member of the Occupy movement.
