Facebook Advertising doesn't work?

Entertainment Journalist, Social Media/Community Manager, Freelance Consultant

A recent study has found that 69% of millennials rarely use facebook fan pages. I felt that there would be some in this group that could use this information for promoting their own work, or at their job.

Other than that, what do you think? Do you think this means advertising approaches to social media need to be re-thought?

This infographic reveals some sobering details about how millennials interact with brands on Facebook.

Good article Nicholas. I don't think the results are surprising because most brands are not essentially "social." For example, I like Coke and Starbucks, but I don't have any social connection to those brands on FB (what is Coke going to say to me that I care about?). That said, I'm hoping that people don't throw the baby out with the bathwater - you can't conclude that just because brands have a tough time getting fans to visit their FB pages, that FB ads do not work. I've had very good results with my FB ads for my book MAJI which I hope to ultimately market in other electronic entertainment spaces. Cheers!
