Question #1: Have you ever gotten satisfaction from TestKing?
Question #2: Do you attempt to "go after" the actual offender who posted the content?
Question #3: What do you do when someone simply refuses to remove material?
Question #4: How much text can you type into a search engine without exposing and compromising your own data?

Christie Z. • Q: Have you ever gotten satisfaction from TestKing?
A: Yes, but only after several attempts. DMCA take down letters were necessary.
Q: Do you attempt to "go after" the actual offender who posted the content?
A: As Faisal described during the session, LSAT certainly does. At Caveon, we also contact “posters” on behalf of our clients, and also enjoy typically favorable results.
Q: What do you do when someone simply refuses to remove material?
A: Get your legal team involved and leverage the DMCA. Continue to demand removal of data with explanation of importance of protecting your intellectual property. Persistence really can pay off!
Q: How much text can you type into a search engine without exposing and compromising your own data?
Depending upon the search engine, you’ll likely be limited in how many words you can incorporate into one search (ie, the limit with Google is 32 words). In many cases when we search for test questions, we’ll use key words that are part of an item, but not revealing at all. That is, we’ll look for phrases that are structured in a unique manner, but won’t give context to the subject matter or topic of an item.

Heather G. • Thanks for the great webinar! It was extremely informative and the tips for monitoring online activity to help combat test exposure were great. Also, I think it's great that you could incorporate real-world examples from LSAC, one of your many clients.
I wonder if there isn't some kind of easily accessible program/software/macro that could be used to help do this monitoring?

With automation we have found that you end up with a large number of irrelevant hits making the job of evaluating those hits unruly. Also there are many instances of highly infringing content hidden within web pages that automatic programs miss, but a manual search of results and sites would likely pick up in context to the rest of the info on the site.

If not in a webinar, then on this forum--I'm interested in how we measure the effectiveness of our security efforts. I can report on how many takedowns are successful, but it doesn't really paint the picture of what is out there and how impactful my web monitoring and enforcement activities are. Thoughts?
