Domain & Hosting Suggestions?

Multimedia Designer & Developer

Hi Design Professionals!

I'm currently in the process of launching my personal portfolio, looking to complete it with unnecessary hassle. Does anyone have a suggested walkthrough for the process - including recommended hosting providers and features to have in a provider?

Also, if you have any general advice for things to look out for during the process, I'd welcome that information too!

Thanks!

Media Temple grid server is worth checking out. Solid, reasonably priced, and great support. Also features one-click install of certain software such as WordPress -- which is nice if your server set-up skills are minimal. Good Luck!

Go Daddy (http://www.godaddy.com/) + Filezilla (free FTP: http://filezilla-project.org/) works for me. Go Daddy has a responsive customer service department if you should need it.

Owner-Jo's Graphic Designs, we use graphic and web design to get business owners in front of their target market.

Namecheap.com and Hostgator.com work for me. Both are inexpensive and have good customer service.

I use Lithium Hosting as a host and Behance Prosite to build my site. Lithium has been great so far and they are inexpensive. One minor complaint is that when I had a problem and tried to fix it myself, their tutorials and Q&As didn't meet my needs. I ended up having to contact tech support.
