D.C. launches Direct Secure Messaging HIE to replace defunct RHIO http://hub.am/V61QeU

One month after the shutdown of the D.C. Regional Health Information Organization (RHIO), the District of Columbia has launched a replacement Direct Secure Messaging (DSM) system to connect doctors across the region, enabling them to share sensitive patient data through a secure email system. The new DSM was funded by a $5.1 million government grant and built by Orion Health.
