CCW provides members with opportunities for support, mentoring, networking, community involvement, learning and development. CCW acts as a resource about construction and exists to attract and retain women in the industry. We have and are continuing to create, with the active participation and enthusiasm of our members, a vibrant organization that supports women in or wishing to be in the construction industry.

Not so long ago nursing, teaching and clerical work were among the few career options available to women. Times have changed. Now non-traditional occupations are among the choices women have, offering them new opportunities, challenges and rewards.

Construction is one field that is actively recruiting women. Through the efforts of government, industry and organizations like the Canadian Construction Women, there is a commitment to increasing women's representation in the field. As more women realize that construction is more than hammers and hard hats, they will see that a career in the building industry offers a world of opportunity. « less
