    Hi Simon,

Try out a Jelly Co-working event, there are about 9 different groups in London (http://www.uk-jelly.org.uk/find-a-jelly/?county=London)

Jelly is an informal co-working event where freelancers, home workers and small/micro business owners bring their laptop, chat and collaborate. Co-working means meeting up with like-minded people to work together in a different environment, to exchange help and advice.
I facilitate two Jelly groups myself and there excellent for getting known and meeting people.

Let me know how you get on.

I like the sound of the Jelly idea. I love my work but the big draw back is that it is a solitary job (actually I work from the home office and I have the kids running in and out of the office driving me nuts, lol)

Jelly sounds great! When I've nailed my novel edits here at home, I'd definitely like to be less of a hermit and look forward to earning some cash and meeting new folks ; )

I found out that we have jelly in Cambridge in a beautiful building. I'm off there this Friday. At the start of my career I was very much involved with Women in Publishing. There are plenty of these societies, especially in London. I'm just getting my head around Cambridge networking - I work from home and want to get out now and then! So far I have tried the Cambridge Publishing Society, a marketing networking event, a writing workshop and TedXGranta events. I'd check out meetup and eventility for local groups in your area.
