Business process management – a complete organisational redesign, or an extension of the IT department?
The greater the rate of change, the more this traditional, functional organisation struggles to keep up; the greater the ineffectiveness and inefficiency from having a less-than-joined-up approach. There is a growing body of opinion that the entire systems of management need to be reinvented. In my latest blog “ A Case for Business Process Management” http://www.acuityconsultants.com/news.html#blog6 I adopt a less radical approach.
I am interested in your experiences of large organizations that have broken the mould – moved away from the traditional functional silo – and are operating successfully in a different way. Or is it just a matter of putting in a business process management function… another department, or an extension of the IT department?
