Ocean Harvest is about to finish their industrial up-scaling of a new sustainable macroalgae derived feed ingredient for farmed salmon (the largest industry besides shrimp). This could really be a big step in making the fish industry more sustainable and also offer alternatives to other plant proteins. At the 3rd Food Protein Innovation 2012 conference (http://bridge2food.com/Food-Protein-innovation-Conference-Bridge2Food-2012.asp) in Amsterdam, 13 – 14 June 2012, Stefan Kraan, Research director and co-founder of Ocean Harvest, will explain the harvesting and extracting technologies.
