Be2camp is about combining social media (Web 2.0) and mainstream technologies to help architecture, engineering, construction and property professionals create and manage a better, more sustainable built environment. Sustainability issues, therefore, will also be important, alongside technology, people and processes.

Whether you love or loathe ICT, this group helps people make sense of the myriad of technologies that are out there:

Blogs, blogging and micro-blogging
Wikis
email (and its alternatives)
search engines and RSS feeds
collaboration platforms
Building Information Modelling (BIM)
mapping and GIS
3D virtual worlds, Second Life, augmented reality, etc
Charrettes: IT and consultation
social networks

The growing online community of individuals involved has already several events - 'unconferences' in London, Liverpool and Birmingham, Tweet-ups in London, Birmingham and elsewhere, joint events with the RIBA and BIFM, social media surgeries, and more. Our next major event is the Be2Awards in London in February 2011 - http://www.be2awards.com. More events are planned, both online and real-life, in the UK, US, Australia and anywhere else you think we should hold one! « less
