In the early days, since 1931, football and cricket was played in the city of jenever and cricket, Schiedam, nearby Rotterdam in the Netherlands. Nowadays Asvion is a modern and healthy sports club, where more than 450 members play hockey and cricket. Since 1952 the grounds are located at "the Abtsweide" in sportspark Thurlede. The nice clubhouse is surrounded by two artificial gras hockeyfields and one cricketground with a brand new pitch. Cricket training is possible in the 2 nets.
On this Site you will find information about the cricket side of the club, which exists of 2 teams. The first team plays on sundays, and after gaining promotion in 2003 and 2007 now plays in the overgangsklasse of the Dutch cricket competition. The Zami team play their games on saturday in the socalled "zami-competition". As you can imagine we can always use talented and less talented cricket players to join our club.
