There are four principles that govern ALFEO:
1. They should be thought-provoking and engaging, making you think, engaging the heart, with strong ideas and experiential process;
2. We are interested in unconventional, deep dive (whether that's a ‘spiritual angle’ or whole systems theory or something else);
3. It should have practical applications for a consultant or coach working in organisations and wanting to make organisations better for the people who work in them, their customers and owners
4. Meet good people, get to know them, work together.
Experimental is good, unusual is good; flaky and sentimental is out. Some of the questions that we've worked with in the past include: What can organisations (and leaders) learn from Aikido? What do masks teach us about organisational life? What's the difference between an archetypal tool and a standard business model? Should organisations be lean or fat? What's the deep structure of an organisation? In what sense does an organisation have a spirit? How can you achieve elegant change? We have used art, drama, lectures, action learning and research, experiential exercises, case studies, dialogue and funky stuff in the process. « less
