Alzheimer's disease is the sixth leading cause of death in the United States. One in eight Baby Boomers will be diagnosed with the disease in the coming years and there is no cure. We will be facing a crisis of enormous proportions, both fiscally and emotionally if something is not done to stem the tide.

We need everybody's help to spread the word about our cause. Talk to your neighbors, relatives and elected officials to bring this issue out in the open. Too often, Alzheimer's is talked about in a whisper as an "old man's" disease. The time for whispering has passed. It is time to bring this issue to the forefront and force conversation and solutions.

The mission of the Alzheimer's Association is to eliminate Alzheimer's disease through the advancement of research; to provide and enhance care and support for all affected; and to reduce the risk of dementia through the promotion of brain health.
